Outcault"; "Universal Junior Jewel"; the 19th of the Buster Brown series of 2-reel comedies) starring Arthur Trimble (in the title role as Buster Brown), Doreen Turner, and Pete the Dog (billed as "Tige"). Note that Pete the Dog played Tige in all the Buster Brown movies starting in 1924. He also became Pete the Pup in the Our Gang movies, and he played that role until 1931, appearing in an amazing 90 movies over those seven years. Supposedly, he lived for another 15 years after he retired! Also note that the Stern Brothers were a very energetic pair of producers who made over 500 silent comedy shorts between 1917 and 1929! We have never auctioned even a single movie paper item from this movie until we received this lobby card, and we are also auctioning a scene card in a separate auction! Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Also note that this lobby card has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the lobby card was backed onto a very light paper backing (acid-free), that keeps the "feel" of the lobby card similar to that of the original lobby card. Some restorers prefer to paperback lobby cards on to a heavy backing, while others prefer to use a very lightweight backing. The advantage of a lightweight backing is that the card still "feels" like a regular lobby card, but a heavier backing makes restoration easier to do and less noticeable. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. Prior to paperbacking, the card had pinholes, a few tears, and some tiny paper loss around the edges, with a few pinholes, smudges, and dot stains scattered in the image. Overall, the lobby card was in good to very good condition prior to paperbacking. The card was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
