L'alibi (released in the U.S. in 1939 as "Alibi"), the 1937 Pierre Chenal French romantic love triangle crime mystery thriller (about a mentalist who kills his rival, a Chicago gangster, and then he pays a showgirl to cover for him, but the detective investigating the case does not believe her story) starring Erich von Stroheim, Albert Prejean, Jany Holt, Louis Jouvet, and Vera Flory

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster had some tiny paper loss and creases along parts of the folds, with pinholes in part of the right border and a tear near the center of the right border. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed onto a somewhat thin linen, and unfortunately, after it was backed, it was very roughly handled, and it now has many creases scattered throughout, both in the poster and in the linen (see our image).
