Date Sold 10/22/2017Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Magazine (measures 10 1/2" x 13 1/2" [27 x 34 cm]) (Learn More) Night and Day ("America's Picture Magazine of Entertainment"), the 1940s to 1960s (at least) "men's" magazine with lots of nude and semi-nude sexy women. At some point in the 1950s, after Playboy magazine came out, they tried to emulate Playboy and also include straight news stories (likely so that men could justify buying it to their wives!), but apparently, that fooled nobody and did not increase sales, so they dropped it and went back to what they knew, and as standards relaxed, their pictures and stories got racier and racier, and they added a "SALE TO MINORS FORBIDDEN" to the cover! If anyone knows more about this magazine, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Important Added Info: Note that in 1950, Marilyn Monroe only rated half a cover of this magazine! They described her as "Marilyn Monroe, at the dawn of a 20th Century-Fox stardom for her performance in The Asphalt Jungle, has that refreshing charm, symbolizing our DAY cover. Born 23 years ago in Los Angeles, she isn't wed yet, but hopes to be." Note that we have provided a picture of the front cover of the magazine, and pictures of interior two-page spreads (including the table of contents page if there is one; but we didn't make much effort to find the best ones!). These images should greatly help you judge the overall condition of the magazine, and the contents page lets you know exactly what articles and stories are contained in this particular issue. Please know that these magazines are sealed in bags and are ready for shipping, and we cannot answer any questions about them or look through them for you, so please bid (or do not bid) based on the images we have provided. Condition: very good to fine. Note that we have attempted to check to see if the magazine is complete and uncut, and we believe that it is. However, there is a slight possibility that we might have missed a small cut or a page that was neatly removed, and if that happens, you can return the magazine. We have solely provided an overall description of the condition of the magazine, but you can also refer to our super-sized images. Please bid (or not bid) based on that overall grade and by viewing the super-sized images. Learn More about condition grades
