An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Devil Bat's Daughter, the 1946 Frank Wisbar crime murder mystery psychiatry thriller sequel ("Blood Red Lips... Hungry for love..."; "But cursed by the brand of the vampires!"; "Giant devil bats... To bring death and the curse of the vampires!"; "By Night... A screeching devil bat... By Day... A beautiful girl... But Always... A blood-thirsty vampire!"; "Out of the darkness... Came talons of death!"; "Giant devil bats... To bring death and the curse of vampires!"; "Original Story by Frank Wisbar and Ernst Jaeger"; about a psychiatrist who uses hypnosis to convince his pretty young patient that she has killed his wife, when he actually did!) starring Rosemary La Planche (in the title role; she had been Miss California in 1940, and this was intended to be her break-out role, but she did not have a lot of success after this), John James, Michael Hale, Molly Lamont, Nolan Leary, Monica Mars, Edward Cassidy, and Eddie Kane. Note that this was a sequel to the 1940 movie "The Devil Bat" starring Bela Lugosi in name only. The title character in this movie is the daughter of Lugosi's character, which is intended to help explain why she thinks she committed a murder she did not commit (more likely, the connection was solely to help at the box office, and the title certainly made people expect they would be seeing a horror monster movie, which they did not, but the movie did have really cool Salvador Dali-like dream sequences!). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had small paper loss at the bottom two crossfolds and tiny paper loss at the top crossfold, with minor wear on the folds, and some tears in the top border caused by rough removal of pins. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
