An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) Bells of San Juan, the 1922 Scott R. Dunlap silent cowboy western (based on Jackson Gregory's 1919 story of the same name) starring Buck Jones (billed as "Charles Jones"), Fritzi Brunette, Claude Payton, Harry Todd, and Kathleen Key. Note that we do not know where the "San Juan" of the title is! There is a San Juan in California, Texas, New Mexico, Mexico, and of course, Cuba, but it appears that this movie is set in the old California town called San Juan. Also note that Buck Jones' white horse was named Silver (just like The Lone Ranger's later on!), and Silver made 73 movies with Buck Jones from 1922 until Jones' death in 1942 in the tragic Cocoanut Grove fire. But oddly, Silver was almost never billed on the posters for Buck Jones' movies as so many other famous horses (most especially Tom Mix's Tony) were! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: fine. There are pinholes in the corners, but otherwise, the card is in wonderful condition!
