An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie 7 3/4" x 11 1/4" [20 x 29 cm] Key Book Still (Learn More) Welcome Home, the 1925 James Cruze silent romantic family relationship comedy melodrama (from the play 'Minick' by George S. Kaufman; based on the story by Edna Ferber; about an old man who moves in with his son and daughter-in-law, and he makes life miserable for both of them; he moves into an old folks home, and at first, they try to convince him to come back, but when the wife discovers she is pregnant, the father realizes it is time to let them live their life) starring Luke Cosgrave (as Old Man Prouty), Warner Baxter, Lois Wilson, Ben Hendricks Sr., Margaret Morris, Josephine Crowell, and Adele Watson. Note that Warner Baxter had been making movies for a few years before he was second billed in this one, but he was still a few years away from major stardom. He was far from an overnight success! Many studios spent extra money to have their most special photos, the key book stills, either backed with linen or printed on a heavy paper, both of which enhanced their durability. They had an extra 1" at the left or top, with punch holes, because of how they were stored. Key book stills are far more rare than regular stills, which has increased their popularity among collectors, since only a few keybooks were manufactured per film, and a key book still is guaranteed to be authentic.
