Bachelor Bait, the 1934 George Stevens romantic marriage comedy ("Hello, Sucker! Pick yourself a bride, from the world's largest, and goofiest, matrimonial bureau!"; "He bit on the hook he had baited for somebody else!"; "PERSONAL Young lady desires marriage. Gentleman must have the advantages of good money and poor health. Constance, Box 132, this newspaper."; "Screen Play by Glenn Tryon") starring Stuart Erwin, Rochelle Hudson, Pert Kelton, Richard "Skeets" Gallagher, and Berton Churchill. Note that director George Stevens spent years in Hollywood directing comedy shorts (from 1930 to 1935), and he directed 30 of them in that time. In 1935, he got his big break directing Katharine Hepburn in "Alice Adams", and his career quickly took off, and he made many extremely memorable Hollywood movies, including "Gunga Din", "Swing Time", "The More the Merrier", "A Place in the Sun", and of course, "Shane" and "Giant"!
