An Original 1987 (from the first release of this movie in Japan) Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Japanese "B2" Movie Poster (measures 20 1/4" x 28 5/8" [51 x 73 cm]) (Learn More) Na Komete (released in English-speaking countries as "On the Comet"), the 1970 (released in the U.S. in 1977) Karel Zeman Czechoslovakian science fiction (sci-fi) space exploration adventure thriller ("Come fly with us..."; "Based on the novel by Jules Verne"; the movie was very loosely based on Jules Verne's writings, and in it, a French section of North Africa is pulled off of the Earth and lands on another planet, and the people there initially continue their regular life until they realize they are stranded forever on a new planet; the movie is a combination of live action and animation) starring Emil Horvath, Magda Vasaryova, Jan Bor, Zdene Bronislavska, Karel Effa, Frantisek Filipovsky, Josef Hlinomaz, Miroslav Holub, Jirina Jiraskova, and Jiri Lir. Note that director Karel Zeman had made a series of internationally acclaimed movies that combined animation and live action prior to this one, but this movie was made during the Russian invasion of Czechoslovakia, and the Russians were unhappy with the acclaim Zeman received, and they interfered with the production, and he did not make another feature film for four more years. Finally, note that this Czech movie was not released in the U.S. for seven years after it was made, and when it was, it was released deceptively, with no actor or director credits, so that viewers would both think it was a U.S. movie, and also think that it was a brand new movie! It was released in the U.S. in two versions, one a dubbed version that was called "On the Comet", and the other a subtitled version called "Off on a Comet". Artist: Cohjizukin Condition: very good to fine. There is a very light horizontal crease across the poster at upper and lower center from it being stored with posters that were tri-folded. It is otherwise in pretty nice condition and it displays well! Learn More about condition grades
