An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) The Subterraneans, the 1960 Ranald MacDougall teen beatnik counter-culture romantic melodrama ("Love among the new Bohemians!"; "Based on the novel by Jack Kerouac") starring Leslie Caron (as Mardou Fox), George Peppard (as Leo Percepied), Janice Rule, Roddy McDowall, Gerry Mulligan (best jazz saxophone player of his era who appeared in four movies, playing a saxophone!), Carmen McRae, and Andre Previn. Note that in the novel, Mardou was black, however for the movie version she was made French! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had slight discoloration at the bottom of the word "LESLIE" at bottom center. Otherwise, it had minor fold and border wear. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Learn More about condition grades
