The Hireling, the 1973 Alan Bridges English class-distinction chauffeur romantic melodrama ("Based on the novel by L.P. Hartley"; "Grand Prize Winner Cannes Film Festival"; "They met as Mistress and Chauffeur in a hired Rolls Royce and slowly as the weeks passed intimacy and understanding grew. She needed to be loved, For a little while he dared hope..."; about a chauffeur who nurses his pretty young female employer back to health after she has a nervous breakdown, and though they grow quite close, she does not allow their employer/employee relationship to change) starring Robert Shaw, Sarah Miles, Peter Egan, Elizabeth Sellars, and Christine Hargreaves. Note that this movie is remarkably similar to the 1989 U.S. movie "Driving Miss Daisy", and even curiouser, the posters for the two movies are incredibly similar in layout!
