Date Sold 3/11/2012Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) The Dangerous Coward, the 1924 Albert S. Rogell silent boxing sports cowboy western ("It's an F.B.O. picture"; "Story by Marion Jackson"; the classic story of a boxer who thinks he has crippled an opponent in the ring, so he stops fighting, but when he learns that the man was only faking, he comes back to win a major bout) starring Fred Thomson (as "Bob Trent, The Lightning Kid"), Hazel Keener, Frank Hagney, Andrew Arbuckle, David Kirby, Jim Corey (as "The Weasel"), and Al Kaufman (as "Battling Benson"). Note that star Fred Thomson was a major silent cowboy star (along with Tom Mix), but he is forgotten today, because he tragically died of tetanus just when sound movies started. Surely there should be a film biography of his life (perhaps Johnny Depp could play the lead role!). Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: good to very good. Learn More about condition grades
