A Hardcover Bound Volume of Original Vintage English Newspaper Pages (measures 11 3/4" x 14 3/4"; 80 pages) (Learn More)

Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the classic 1937 David Hand Walt Disney animated animation family romantic fairy-tale fantasy musical cartoon ("His first full length feature production"; "In the Marvelous Multiplane Technicolor"; "Behold The Miracle of the Movies! Coming to amaze you, charm you, thrill you!"; "With Eight new songs as catching as 'The Big Bad Wolf.'"; "To thrill you"; "Merriment!"; "Melody!"; "Magic!"; "The dwarfs sing their marching song on the way to work."; "Walt Disney's first full length feature production"; "The show sensation of the generation!"; "Wondrously filmed in all the glories of the marvelous multiplane Technicolor"; "The Screen's Supreme Thrill! 1,000 artists worked three years to give you this once-in-a-lifetime show!... A full hour and a half of the most enthralling entertainment you ever experienced... truly the miracle in motion pictures!") featuring the voices of Adriana Caselotti (in the title role as Snow White), Harry Stockwell (as the Prince), Lucille La Verne, Moroni Olsen, and Stuart Buchanan. Note that this movie is always referred to as a "1937" movie, but it actually only had a limited opening in December 1937 (no doubt to qualify for the Oscars), and then it had its wide opening in February 1938. But because it is always referred to as being from 1937, we refer to it that way as well (and of course, it is technically correct).

Important Added Info: Note that this is a REALLY unusual book! It is a scrapbook-like book that has all of the daily stories that the English newspaper "Daily Sketch" ran in their paper between February 28, 1938 and May 28, 1938! Apparently, this newspaper was given these heavily illustrated stories exclusively by Walt Disney, because each page has a small box that says "The DAILY SKETCH Presents Exclusively the only full story, with original drawings of the film that has made history!" You might think that this might have been done prior to the opening in England, but actually, it was done right after it opened (it opened in England on February 24, 1938), so no doubt Disney wanted it running while the movie was playing, so that people would be inspired to go see it. We have never seen these newspaper pages before, and we imagine that they were only printed in this one English newspaper, which would make them more rare. Someone took all of the pages and glued them back to back and then had them bound professionally with the title of the movie on the cover in gold letters. We don't know if this was done by the newspaper, or by a dedicated fan! If anyone knows more about this book, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Condition: good to very good. The pages have darkened, more so around the edges, typical of 1938 newspapers. There is some uneven darkening on some of the pages and some scattered stains. The first interior page has much staining and has some paper residue that might mean that a page was removed, but if so, it is likely a blank page or simply a title page (we don't know because we have never seen another of these). See our many images to get a good sense of the condition of this very rare and unusual book.
