Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Unfolded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 22" x 28") (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's Shadow of a Doubt, the 1943 Alfred Hitchcock family relationship crime film noir ("From an Original Story by Gordon McDonell"; "Screen Play by Thornton Wilder"; about a family whose uncle comes to town to visit, and he charms his niece, but at the same time, some widows start being murdered, and the niece suspects her uncle) starring Teresa Wright, Joseph Cotten, Macdonald Carey, Patricia Collinge, Henry Travers, Wallace Ford, and Hume Cronyn NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. the poster was paperbacked; it appears that prior to paperbacking the poster had pinholes, smudges, tears and a few tiny areas of paper loss in the blank borders. The person who restored it has placed new paper over much of the borders to give them an even appearance and it is very well done (most people would not be aware of this restoration if it were not pointed out to them); it appears there were several long horizontal tears in the right side of the poster; the longest runs above the hands at top right and down into the image background by Cotten's neck; one runs just below the hand into Wright's hand and the last one runs in the background area at lower right just above Carey's head; it seems there were light smudges and creases in other parts of the image; the above defects were expertly touched up during the paperbacking process; When one examines this poster from inches away, one can find traces of the expert restoration but from any distance away the poster looks wonderful and it in no way has a "heavily restored" feeling to it. I would think any collector would be happy to have this poster in their collection! Learn More about condition grades
