An Original 1955 (from the first release of this movie in France) Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked French One-Panel "Grande" Movie Poster (1p; measures 47" x 63" [119 x 160 cm]) (Learn More) Symphonie Eines Lebens (literally translates to "Symphony of Life"), the 1943 Hans Bertram German doomed romance melodrama (about a church choir leader who has a loving wife and children, but he meets a beautiful countess and falls madly in love with her and completely wrecks his life for her, and after he marries her, he sees her dancing with a young man and kills the man in a fit of jealousy, and spends twelve years in prison, and when he is released, his former wife is dying, but she tells him to never see their now grown children, so they can remember him how he was!) starring Henny Porten, Gisela Uhlen, Harry Baur, Harald Paulsen, Albert Florath, and Julia Serda. Note that the movie is divided into four sections to resemble the "movements" of a symphony, so it is telling the "symphony" of this man's tragic life. Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at some crossfolds and some creases, tears, and tiny paper loss on many parts of some folds, with some scuffs scattered in the image. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
