An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Roy Rogers (born Leonard Slye, often referred to as the "King of the Cowboys") is considered one of the all-time top singing cowboy western actors (he started in movies in the 1930s and worked in film until the 1950s, often with The Sons of the Pioneers, and comedy sidekicks including Gabby Hayes and Andy Devine; in 1951, he transitioned to television and had a very successful TV show for six seasons) and was nearly always accompanied by his equally famous horse, Trigger. He had many female co-stars until he starred with Dale Evans, and they married, and remained married for over 50 years! He passed away in 1998 at the age of 86. Important Added Info: Note that this wonderful still is from the annual "Comedian vs. Leading Men" baseball game. It has a snipe on the back telling that Roy Rogers rode Trigger on the field and helped young B-western actor Dickie Jones (who Rogers never appeared with) to "steal" third base! Condition: very good to fine. The still is in very nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
