Cline New York Broadway female detective mystery crime comedy starring James Gleason (as Inspector Oscar Piper), Zasu Pitts (as Hildegarde Withers), Marjorie Lord, George Shelley, Joan Woodbury, Frank M. Thomas, Tom Kennedy, Alan Edwards, and Barbara Pepper. Note that this was one of a series of six very popular detective comedies starring a female detective named Hildegarde Withers, who assists a police detective named Oscar Piper. The first movie in the series was "Penguin Pool Murder" in 1932, and Edna May Oliver played her in the first three movies, and then Helen Broderick played her in one, and Zasu Pitts in the final two. James Gleason played Detective Piper in all six movies. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this lobby card has been trimmed and it now measures 10 3/4" x 13 1/2" [27 x 34 cm]. Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good. The card was in a bound volume and it was very neatly (and very slightly) trimmed on its top, right, and bottom borders. It was removed from the bound volume roughly and there is now a jagged edge down the left blank border, along with tiny holes from where it was bound. The card measures 10 3/4" x 13 1/2", so it was only a small amount of each blank border that was trimmed. There is a piece of tape on the back of the center of the top border, but it was not put there for any restoration purpose. Learn More about condition grades
