This is surely one of the finest movies ever made, with remarkable performances, writing, and direction, and if you haven't seen it, you should! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned two examples of this style A one-sheet, and the last time was 24 years ago. The poster is so rare, that it might be another 24 years before we auction another! Note that the style B one-sheet does not have any stars pictured, but has solely the film strip image from the center of this poster. We have auctioned a number of examples of that poster. We suspect that the people who were lucky enough to acquire this style A one-sheet never want to sell it, which would explain why it auctions so many fewer times than the other style. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at the middle crossfold and tiny paper loss at the other two crossfolds, with minor wear on the folds and in the borders. The poster had been displayed, and the solid red areas had faded somewhat. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. A really talented restorer backed the poster and performed touch up to the red areas to "even them out" and to bring them back to the original color, and they did this without restoring the other areas of the poster. They did a wonderful job, and the poster displays really well (see our image)! However, bear in mind the touch up this poster has had when bidding on this extremely rare and desirable poster.
