An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

Hole In the Wall, the 1929 Robert Florey kidnapping mystery melodrama (about a woman who was sent to prison based on the accusations of another woman, and when she is released, she kidnaps the daughter of the woman responsible; meanwhile, there is a gang of crooks called the "Hole in the Wall Gang", and they are led by a mysterious crook called "The Fox" and a woman known as "Madame Mysteria", but then that woman is killed, and the kidnapper is invited to take her place, and there is also a newspaperman investigating everything!) starring Claudette Colbert, David Newell, Nellie Savage, Edward G. Robinson (as The Fox), and Donald Meek. Note that this movie was made at the time when all studios were converting to sound, and they were having trouble with their silent stars, many of whom could not adapt. Claudette Colbert and Edward G. Robinson had made very minor film appearances years prior to this, and both had ended up acting on the stage in New York. They were both recruited for this movie because of their stage experience, and of course, both went on to legendary careers (and director Robert Florey went on to write "Frankenstein"!).

Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned two stills (one first release and one re-release) and a pressbook from this movie, and NO other movie paper, until we received this third still! Also note that this still has been very slightly trimmed, but it still measures 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm].

Condition: good. Part of the left, right, and bottom blank borders were very slightly trimmed off (likely to fit a frame, because it originally measured over 8" x 10"), but only blank white paper is affected. There is paper loss in each left blank corner. There is discoloration in the upper left background.
