But it helps."; "An American excess story.") starring Richard Pryor (in the title role as Montgomery Brewster), John Candy, Lonette McKee, Stephen Collins, Hume Cronyn, Jerry Orbach, Reni Santoni and Conrad Janis. Note that this has proven to be an extremely popular concept for a movie, for there have been versions of it made in 1914, 1921, 1926 (with a female Brewster!), 1935, 1945, 1961, and then a 24 year skip until this version was made (and they needed to raise the amount from one million dollars to thirty million dollars thanks to the massive inflation that had occurred over those 24 years; if they made the movie today, it would probably be something like a billion dollars!).
