The movie was intended to be released as "Farewell, My Lovely", the name of the source novel, but it was changed at the last minute. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned four examples of this one-sheet, and one of those examples has now been reconsigned to us, so this is still only one of four examples we have ever auctioned! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds, with some tiny bits of paper loss on small parts of some folds. It had tape stains, tears, and some paper loss around the edges, mostly in the blank borders, but slightly extending into the edge of the image in a few places. There was paper loss in the bottom left corner that removed the tiny "1A" there, and a tear that affected the tiny "Co" of "Copyright" next to it. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was expertly backed, and displays really well, and the restorer replaced the missing tiny "1A" in the bottom left. Learn More about condition grades
