An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Vertical British Quad Movie Poster (BQ; Quad Crown; measures 30" x 40" [76 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) The Little Girl Next Door, the 1912 Lucius Henderson silent family relationship revenge melodrama short ("The best of friends"; about a man who gets revenge on his neighbor when his young daughter drowns in a boating accident) starring William Garwood, Marguerite Snow, Marion Fairbanks, Madeline Fairbanks, and William Russell. Note that Marion & Madeline Fairbanks were often known as the "Thanhouser Twins" because of their work with Thanhouser studio, which was located down the street from their New York City home. In the 1920s, they signed with the Ziegfeld Follies, and performed musically together. For a while, they separated with one continuing on stage, and the other making movies, but they soon reunited. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time, but it has been stored flat, and because it is very fragile we are not refolding it and it will be sent rolled in a tube. Also note that few people know that in the early days of British quads, they were originally in a vertical format (but they measured 30" x 40", just as they continue to do throughout the years). This is because so few of them survive, almost surely because of the massive paper shortages in England during World War II! At some point in the 1950s, they changed orientation to be horizontal, and they have remained that way to the present day. Finally note that this is an extremely rare pre-World War II English poster! Virtually no English posters survive from the 1940s or earlier, because during World War II there were many paper shortages resulting in the destruction of almost all pre-World War II posters! Note that we have only twice before auctioned an example of this poster! Condition: very good. There is slight darkening and a few tears around the edges. Otherwise the poster has survived in surprisingly nice condition considering it is 112 years old! Learn More about condition grades
