Told just as frankly as in the famed novel!"; "Based on the novel by Gustave Flaubert") starring Jennifer Jones (in the title role as Madame Bovary), Van Heflin, Louis Jourdan, Christopher Kent, Gene Lockhart, Frank Allenby, Gladys Cooper, and James Mason ("portraying Gustave Flaubert, the author") NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and minor wear on the folds. It had pinholes around the edges. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame.
