Wellman telephone lineman romantic love triangle crime murder melodrama ("Nothing to lose but their lives"; produced by Darryl F. Zanuck; a wild story about a telephone lineman who gets in and out of trouble, both on the job and romantically, and he gets caught up in a love triangle, which ends up with his rival murdered, but it turns out that it was an ex-girlfriend who did it!) starring Spencer Tracy, Jack Oakie, Constance Cummings, Arline Judge, and Judith Wood. Note that it is interesting that this movie is set in Long Beach, California, and at the conclusion of the film, there is an earthquake, and the real murderer (the ex-girlfriend) is trapped in the rubble from the quake, and she makes a dying confession that exonerates the leading man! This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. Note that because this poster was paperbacked onto a thicker paper backing, it CAN'T be sent rolled (someone could conceivably roll it or try to do so, but we think it would almost certainly damage it, so we will only send it in a large flat package, unless the buyer insists, and then they would be responsible for any damage). Prior to paperbacking, the poster had paper loss at the left and right ends of the top and middle horizontal folds, with the paper loss extending into the yellow background at the right end of the middle fold. It also had small paper loss in other parts of the blank borders. It had rough creases along the folds. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to paperbacking. The person who paperbacked the poster left the blank border paper loss alone, surely figuring it will not show when the poster is framed, and they colored in the missing yellow background area and performed slight fold restoration (see our image).
