The first motion picture from the creators of 'The Bridge On The River Kwai.'"; "A mighty spectacle of action and adventure!"; produced by Sam Spiegel and David Lean; winner of the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Alec Guinness, Anthony Quinn, Jack Hawkins, Jose Ferrer, Anthony Quayle, Claude Rains, Arthur Kennedy, Omar Sharif (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; "as 'Ali'"), Peter O'Toole (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; in the title role as T.E. Lawrence; billed as "introducing Peter O'Toole as Lawrence"; which is odd, because he had small parts in several movies prior to this one!), and Zia Mohyeddin NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned ANY of these special 40x60 posters! They appear to be a special set of 40x60s that were created for this movie (and of course, there may have been other portraits of the other lead actors). They are definitely "photographic blow-ups" that were hand colored, which are extremely like the "Meloy Bros" 40x60 posters created in the 1930s. We don't know any more than what we wrote about, because we have never before seen even one of these. If anyone knows more about these, please e-mail us and we will post it here. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The posters had some pinholes and tears around the edges, with some creases and scuffs scattered within the image. Overall, the posters were in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The posters were pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
