Date Sold 5/15/2022Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. a lot of 26 Paramount drama pressbooks. Paramount is a entertainment production company from 1912 to the present. They are the fifth oldest surviving film studio in the world. Paramount Pictures dates its existence from the founding of the Famous Players Film Company by Adolph Zukor. That same year, Jesse L. Lasky opened his Lasky Feature Play Company, and both companies released their films through a start-up company called Paramount Pictures Corporation (and their first movies were "released through the Paramount Program"). In 1916, Zukor maneuvered a three-way merger of his Famous Players, the Lasky Company, and Paramount into the Famous Players-Lasky Corporation. The new corporation absorbed other firms (such as Artcraft in 1918) and eventually was simply known as Paramount Pictures. The early history of Paramount is fascinating and filled with backstabbing, and anyone interested will be greatly rewarded by reading about it!
