Zanuck; "A dramatic thunderbolt!"; about an Austrian bell ringer musician who has a double tragedy when his second son is born, for his wife dies during childbirth and the son is deaf; he goes into great despair, and becomes a bum, giving up his children for adoption; many years later, the deaf boy regains his hearing and becomes a famous musician, and he finds his down-and-out father) starring Jean Hersholt, Don Ameche (in his 3rd credited role!), Allen Jenkins, J. Edward Bromberg, and Ann Shoemaker NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline).
