An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Herald (measures 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" [9 x 14 cm] when folded; 3 pages) (Learn More)

The Heart of a Follies Girl, the 1928 John Francis Dillon silent romantic crime comedy ("Story by Adela Rogers St. John"; about a poor shop clerk who falls in love with a Ziegfeld Follies girl and to keep her, he embezzles money and is sent to jail, and surprisingly, the girl decides to loyally wait for him!) starring Billie Dove, Larry Kent, Lowell Sherman, Clarissa Selwynne, and Mildred Harris. Note that Mildred Harris was a teenage actress in the 1910s, who was seduced by Charlie Chaplin, and he then married her. They divorced in 1921, and she continued making movies, sometimes billed as "Mildred Harris Chaplin" or "Mrs. Charlie Chaplin". The coming of sound did not help her career, nor did the fact that she was about to enter her thirties, and her career pretty much ended in 1930, although she returned to have a number of minor roles until her passing in 1944, as a result of botched abdominal surgery. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

Important Added Info: Note that this die-cut herald was folded down the center, as intended.

Condition: good to very good. There are diagonal creases along the top of the vertical fold and there are ink pad stamps on the blank area of the herald. The herald is otherwise in pretty nice condition.
