An Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Publicity Still (Learn More) Johnny Mathis is a black African American singer from 1956 to the present. In 1982, Mathis revealed he was gay in a radio interview, but then received death threats and talked no more about it for decades. Some of his hits include Wonderful! Wonderful!, It's Not For Me to Say, Chances Are, Misty, Venus, and When Sunny Gets Blue. As of 2021, he is still alive at the age of 85! Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Johnny Mathis! Also note that many celebrities kept multiple 8" x 10" (or smaller) copies of good publicity images of themselves to sign for fans, and also many memorabilia shops sold such copy stills themselves. While they are not original theater-used stills, they are usually excellent clear copies, with a great shot of that celebrity in their heyday, which, when signed by the celebrity, makes for a wonderful framed picture on any fan's wall! The consignor of this autographed item (and a large number of other signed items in this auction) is a longtime autograph collector who does not have a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) for this item, but he feels certain it is genuine.
