An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Movie Window Card (WC; measures 13 1/4" x 22" [34 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) Ladies of the Mob, the 1928 William A. Wellman silent romantic crime melodrama (a wild story of a girl whose father died in the electric chair, and her mother raised her to be a crook as well; she grows up and falls in love with another crook, and she fears he will end up like her father, so she shoots him in the shoulder so he can't go on a bank robbery with the gang, but everything works out in the end) starring Clara Bow, Richard Arlen, Helen Lynch, Mary Alden, and Carl Gerard. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. Note that Clara Bow was the most famous "flapper girl" of the mid to late 1920s (she became known as "The It Girl" after the character she played based on the popular novel by Elinor Glyn). She had a major role in Wings, and was Paramount's biggest star at that time. But she had a notorious private life and seemingly "settled down" when she married cowboy star Rex Bell in 1931 (she had two children and she retired from movies), but sadly in 1949 she went into a mental institution after a failed suicide attempt (she had had psychiatric issues for quite some time) and she was released but never returned to her family, and lived alone until her death in 1965. Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that posters from this movie are incredibly rare! We have never before auctioned a poster from this movie, only lobby cards and stills, in all our years of auctioning. Also note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 13 1/4" x 22" [34 x 56 cm]. Condition: poor to fair. The window card has paper loss down the lower right, affecting the end of the title and a small part of the shadow at right. Obviously, one would prefer to find a complete example of this card, but Bow's image is unaffected, as is her name above her, and certainly a restorer could recreate the missing areas, if one can locate an image of a complete card (and we have never auctioned it, so this is surely incredibly rare).
