An Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Publicity Still (Learn More)

Denise Darcel (born Denise Billecard) was a French actress from the 1940s to the 1960s. Right after World War II, she won a beauty contest that resulted in a lot of publicity for her as "The Most Beautiful Girl in France", and she became a nightclub entertainer. She married an American captain and moved with him to the U.S., but soon divorced, and she made her first movie in 1948. Some of her movies include: Battleground, Westward the Women, Vera Cruz, Dangerous When Wet, and many more! She passed away in 2011 at the age of 86.
Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Denise Darcel! Our consignor's father in law was a "mobster" (named "Tony") in the 1940s and 1950s, and he obtained these autographs from performers at clubs he visited (and they are personalized to him). Our consignor does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we are certain the signature is authentic.

Also note that many celebrities kept multiple 8" x 10" (or smaller) copies of good publicity images of themselves to sign for fans, and also many memorabilia shops sold such copy stills themselves. While they are not original theater-used stills, they are usually excellent clear copies, with a great shot of that celebrity in their heyday, which, when signed by the celebrity, makes for a wonderful framed picture on any fan's wall!

As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.

Condition: very good to fine.
