Original Vintage Theatrical Italian One-Panel Movie Poster (measures 39" x 55") (Learn More) When Worlds Collide, the classic 1951 Rudolph Mate science fiction (sci-fi) doomsday fantasy thriller ("Spectacle never before filmed!"; "Most amazing story that science or fiction ever imagined!"; "Planets Destroy Earth!"; "Giant planet collides with earth!"; "Enormous earthquakes swallow whole continents!"; "Tidal waves flood entire countries!"; "Space ship leaves earth!"; "Based on the famous novel by Edwin Balmer and Philip Wylie"; produced by George Pal, who did the excellent special effects; a highly literate screenplay by Sydney Boehm; this is the sort of movie that proved that science fiction movies did not have to be silly to be critically acclaimed or popular with the public; it is a pity more movies did not follow this wonderful movie's formula!) starring Barbara Rush, Richard Derr, Peter Hanson, John Hoyt, Larry Keating, Frank Cady, and Stephen Chase NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this Italian one-panel measures approximately 39" x 55" and is folded. Condition: very good to fine. The poster is in quite nice condition but it is slightly darkened along the foldlines and it is separating on some of them. Someone put clear tape on the back of the right half of the bottom foldline and a 3" piece of clear tape on the back of the middle crossfold. There is clear tape on the back of much of the right of the top foldline. There are small tears around the edges of some borders and many minor creases throughout the poster. The above defects are basically minor, and easily correctable through linenbacking. Once the poster is backed, it will look wonderful, and it will require very little actual restoration!
