Subscriptions are taken in Paris and in the Provinces at the Banque Nationale De Credit.") encouraging people to help the war efforts by purchasing war bonds. Note that this poster features SEM (Serge Goursat) art of French soldiers marching past the Arc de Triomphe with images of past soldiers joining them. Artist: Georges Goursat Important Added Info: Note that we were just consigned a wonderful collection of 59 war posters, most from World War II (which we are auctioning in 59 separate auctions)! Included in this collection are some posters we have never auctioned before, and some we have only auctioned once or twice before (sometimes only many years ago). This is a wonderful opportunity to obtain some or all of these historic posters, many of which have great images!). Condition: fair. The poster was placed on to a very thin linen backing shortly after being printed. The purpose was to reinforce the poster, so that it would survive, when it was passed from theater to theater, and when it was put up on walls and taken down. Such posters can be professionally removed from the original linen and placed on to a proper linen backing. Some of the linen at bottom has loosened. It has many ripples throughout and it has acquired several stains (especially at center where there is some mildew). There are many creases scattered throughout. The poster is in need of restoration. Certainly a top restorer can repair the defects described above, and after, the poster will display really well, but please bear in mind the poster's many defects and the cost of restoration before placing a bid.
