An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Argentinean Movie Poster (measures approximately 29" x 43") (Learn More) the circa 1930s stock poster ("The screen's daredevil cowboy in a thrilling, breath-taking all talking western") created by Columbia pictures for use by theaters showing their very early 1930s Buck Jones movies. We have seen four different U.S. window cards, all with very different images, and all are from Columbia Pictures, with these taglines: "The Screen's Greatest Outdoor Star!"; "Buck Jones in a Whirlwind, Alll Dialog Western"; "Thrilling, Breath-taking ALL TALKING WESTERN"; "The Screen's Daredevil Cowboy", and also an Argentinean poster with yet another completely different image, and there may well have been other similar posters of other sizes or from other countries. Theaters would order this poster, which had a large blank area at top or bottom. Sometimes the studio would overprint the stock poster with the title of a specific movie, and sometimes they were sent a series of large paper snipes with the titles of specific entries of the series, so the theater could paste in each snipe as needed, thus getting many posters for the price of one. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This Argentinean poster measures approximately 29" x 43" and is linenbacked. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and minor wear along the foldlines. There were pinholes around the edges of the poster. The poster was well backed, and looks great!
