An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 41" x 81" [104 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) The Animal Kingdom, the 1932 Edward H. Griffith romantic love triangle melodrama ("Peerless stars in a down-to-earth drama of human love"; "An attraction worthy of the honor it has won; the first picture to grace the screen of the new RKO-Roxy Theatre in Radio City, New York"; "A Great and Distinctive Picture Wins a Supreme and Exclusive Honor!!"; "A love too sacred to be held in marriage bonds"; "From the play by Philip Barry"; about a man who has a female friend with whom he shares a very close bond, but they are solely platonic friends; he marries her, but soon regrets it when he meets a woman he wants a physical relationship with, and he must choose between his "spiritual" and "animal instincts") starring Ann Harding, Leslie Howard, Myrna Loy, William Gargan, and Neil Hamilton NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that first release 1932 posters and lobby cards from this movie are incredibly rare. The only items from this movie we have previously auctioned were a complete set of lobby cards and an example of this three-sheet, but those were 22 and 18 years ago, and it is an excellent chance that this is the very same three-sheet being consigned back to us, so it is likely still the only three-sheet we have ever auctioned. Also note that this three-sheet was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap. Condition: very good. There is a 1" x 4" stain on the back of the poster that somewhat shows through to the front in the bottom right of the index finger. There are some small tears and tiny paper loss in that same area. There is some darkening on the back of the part of the poster that was on the outside when it was fully folded. There are some creases and several tears along the folds that were on the outside when the poster was fully folded. There are some creases, smudges, and tiny tears on some folds, and some tiny paper loss at some crossfolds. After a simple linenbacking, the poster will display wonderfully!
