A Linenbacked Danish Travel Poster (measures 24 1/2" x 40" [62 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) Scandinavian Airlines System: Near East, the 1950s Danish travel poster ("Near East by SAS") designed to promote tourism in the Near East via Scandinavian Airlines System, and featuring Otto Nielsen art of camels in the desert. Artist: Otto Nielsen Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The bottom 2" of the poster were folded back at one time. There was a 12" tear in the lower right of the image extending down the left of the SAS logo to the bottom border. There was a 20" tear in the upper left extending by the edge of the airplane down to the left of the camel. There were other creases and tears in the top of the poster and a few scattered in the image. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
