An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style B One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 28" x 42") (Learn More) Wildflower, the 1914 Allan Dwan silent romantic love triangle melodrama ("Four Reels of Motion Pictures"; "by Mary Germaine"; a pretty wild story of a girl known as "Wildflower" who lives in the woods who meets a rich man who falls madly in love with her, but then his brother manages to get her to elope with him, but she returns to the first brother, even though she is married to the second one!) starring Marguerite Clark (in her very first movie, "in a bewitching characterization" as Letty Roberts/"Wildflower"), Harold Lockwood, James Cooley, Edgar L. Davenport, and Jack Pickford. Note that this was one of the first major movies for Famous Players (which soon merged with Paramount), and it was certainly very daring for its time, for its "menage a trois-like" relationship of a woman and two brothers! Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this one-sheet measures 28" x 42". Please do not bid on this poster thinking it is 27" x 41". Condition: very good to fine. The poster was folded in half an extra time with minor wear on the foldlines. There were some light stains in the "RIT" of "MARGUERITE" and some darkening across that foldline. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking (I would think it is fair to say it has survived in about as nice condition as any 92 year-old poster could hope to be found!). The poster was well backed, and looks great! Note that the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster. Learn More about condition grades
