The most magnificent picture ever!"; "David O. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned three examples of this first release pressbook, and only one in the last 23 years! Note that MGM knew full well that this movie would be a massive hit, and they made one of the most elaborate pressbooks ever! It is a giant folder that is printed with full-color images of almost all the posters and lobby cards when unfolded. When it is folded, the folder holds five different supplements that measure 16" x 18" that are all heavily illustrated, plus an 8 1/2" x 20 1/2" accessories sheet giving the prices of everything you could order. Naturally, given the very large size and having loose sections, very few of these have ever survived. As noted above, we have previously auctioned three examples of this, in 1993, 2001, and 2022, and now we have our fourth example, but it may be many years before we have a fifth example!

Note: We have 27 images of this pressbook, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 27 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 17.

Condition: good to very good, NO CUTS. The pressbook is complete and uncut. The cover of the folder is separated from the rest, and the rest of the folder has tears and tiny paper loss on the folded areas (see our image of the folder opened flat to see exactly what condition defects it has). The interior sections are in generally nice condition (again, see our many images).
