An Original Vintage Campaign Book (measures 9 1/2" x 12 1/2" [24 x 32 cm]; 66 pages) (Learn More)

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer 1924-25, the 1924 MGM campaign book featuring images and information about upcoming MGM movie releases for the 1924-25 season. This was the year that Metro Pictures, Goldwyn Pictures, and Louis B. Mayer joined forces and combined into "Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer", so this is the first campaign book from the combined company! The book is filled with full-page ads for upcoming productions from the new combined company, all with color art, including films such as The Navigator (Buster Keaton), The Scandal and The Arab (Ramon Novarro), The Merry Widow (Erich von Stroheim), He Who Gets Slapped (Lon Chaney Sr.), and many more. For unknown reasons, MGM campaign books from the 1920s and 1930s are even more rare than those from other studios, and there are several years from which not a single full-size campaign book is known to exist. Finally, note that campaign books in general are extremely rare, and the best of them have often sold for hundreds of dollars, and in the case of the very finest, thousands of dollars!
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this campaign book, and it sold for $1,124!

Note: We have 11 images of this campaign book, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 11 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 1.

Condition: good. The spine is missing, and the back cover has completely separated from the rest of the book. When that back cover separated, it caused some of the last page to separate from the rest of the back cover. It is all present, but it is torn down the left side of the inside back cover. All of the interior pages are in generally nice condition.
