Each poster features a wonderful image or art of one of the many locations that the railroad visits. The SNCF was founded in 1938 with the nationalization of France's main railway companies. Also note that Auvergne is a region in central France which is home to a chain of volcanoes known collectively as the "chaine des Puys" (chain of volcanic hills). What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It had some tiny tears and tiny bits of paper loss around the edges, with a 2" tear and a 3" tear near the center of the bottom border, and some other creases and tears in the bottom 2" of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
