An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed 7 1/2" x 9 1/2" [19 x 24 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Marlene Dietrich was a very popular German actress and singer from the 1920s through the 1950s! She started in German movies in the 1920s, and then got her big break in Josef von Sternberg's "The Blue Angel", which was made in both a German and an English version. That led to a series of wonderful movies with von Sternberg. Some of her other movies include: Destry Rides Again, Shanghai Express, The Scarlet Empress, A Foreign Affair, Morocco (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Blonde Venus, Touch of Evil, Witness for the Prosecution, and Judgment at Nuremberg. She passed away in 1992 at the age of 90. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been trimmed and it now measures 7 1/2" x 9 1/2" [19 x 24 cm]. Also note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Marlene Dietrich! Our consignor is a major collector of movie memorabilia who obtained this autographed photo many years ago, and he believes it to surely be authentic. Condition: good. There are some tiny ink stains in the center of the still in Dietrich's neck and shoulder. There is a faint scuff mark in Dietrich's chin. There are some pinholes in three corners and one just above the right of Dietrich's signature. There is tiny paper loss in all four corners and in the center of the right border. There was once tape on the back of the bottom of the still where a snipe was attached. The former owner of the still, "Harry Wilkinson", apparently wanted to make certain that no one would be able to steal the still and re-sell it, because he stamped his information on the back of the still nine times!
