An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded French Large Movie Poster (31x47; measures approximately 31" x 47") (Learn More) La Pagode (literally translates to "The Pagoda"), the 1970s French film festival poster promoting a September 21st tribute to the work of filmmaker Jean Cocteau, and featuring profile artwork which was created by Jean Cocteau in 1949. Note that La Pagode was a legendary movie theater located in Paris, which opened in 1931. The Japanese garden that surrounds the building hides an actual pagoda, imported piece by piece from Japan by the owner Le Bon Marche as a gift to his wife. Regrettably, the theater was closed in 2015 and many of it's contents were auctioned off. If anyone knows more about this festival, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
