A 1953 Re-Release Theatrical Movie Lobby Card #5 (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

Out of the Past (released in other English-speaking countries as "Build My Gallows High"), the classic 1947 Jacques Tourneur romantic love triangle revenge crime film noir thriller ("A Man - Trying to run away from his past... A Woman - Trying to escape her future!" "'Don't try to get rid of me for another woman... ...it won't work!"'; based on the novel 'Build My Gallows High' by Daniel Mainwaring; a great story of a private investigator who is hired by a gangster to find his missing mistress, and he does so, but then he falls for her, and starts a romance with her, even though he knows he is likely signing his death warrant) starring Robert Mitchum, Jane Greer, Kirk Douglas (in his third movie role!), Rhonda Fleming, Richard Webb, Steve Brodie, Dickie Moore, Virginia Huston, Paul Valentine, and Ken Niles

Important Added Info: Note that this movie was Kirk Douglas' third movie ever, and he really made an impression on audiences in a relatively small, but important, role. The people who made the posters for the first release did not know this, of course, and Douglas is billed but not pictured on the posters, and is only on one of the lobby cards. After Douglas achieved great success in the early 1950s, this classic film noir movie was re-released to theaters in 1953, and Kirk Douglas was given deservedly equal billing to the other three stars in the credits. However, for the lobby card set, the scenes from the original set were re-used, so Douglas still only appears in one of the cards. Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: good to very good. Note that this card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
