An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style B One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) We're All Gamblers, the 1927 James Cruze silent New York City boxing sports romantic love triangle melodrama ("Based on the play 'Luck Sam McCarver' by Sydney Howard"; about a poor boy from New York's Lower East Side who becomes a boxer, and he is hit by a car driven by a rich woman, but he refuses to take money for it, and later he runs a nightclub, and he runs into her again, and they realize they have always been in love) starring Thomas Meighan, Marietta Millner, Cullen Landis, Philo McCullough, and Gertrude Claire. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that for a brief time in the late 1920s, Paramount made many of their one-sheets (at least one style for each movie) have a large blank area at the bottom of the poster. This could have been for the theater to write in play dates, or for the theater to put in the name of other movies they were showing, or possibly short subjects. They put that bottom area in a different color, and it seems the experiment lasted for only around a year, before they went back to a traditional one-sheet layout). Condition: good to very good. The poster had a 7" x 1" oval area of paper loss in the right of the top foldline, including much of Millner's last name. It also had a thin strip of paper loss in the vertical foldline in the background area between the "L" and "G" of "ALL GAMBLERS" in the title. There was a similar sized area of paper loss at the top crossfold, again solely in the background area. There were a few tiny tears in the vertical foldline between the top and bottom foldlines and some creases on some of the other folds. There were creases, smudges, and pinholes around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, but you can see signs of the restoration (which fortunately is almost exclusively in the top title and credits area, and not in the image).
