This was a "helpful instruction" glass slide that was shown along with coming attraction glass slides between movies at a 1920s movie theater (we have seen these in movie scenes showing old time theaters, but it is likely that very few of these survive). If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: fair. The slide has a long diagonal crack in the lower right of the back pane, but it is not very noticeable from the front, although it does run through the lower right of the image and the "OO" of "FLOOR". This slide also has a second odd defect. Someone dripped glue down the right of the front pane, and there is paper residue attached to it. Anyone who is willing to take time and care could scrape off the glue and paper without damaging the glass, but it would have to be done very slowly and carefully, and once that is done, they will have a slide that displays well, but there will still be the crack in the back pane (which is not very noticeable from the front).
