An Original Undated (probably late 1940s; from the first release of this movie in Japan) Vintage Theatrical Folded Japanese "B3" or "Nakazuri" Movie Poster (14x20; measures 14" x 20" [36 x 51 cm]) (Learn More) A-Haunting We Will Go, the 1942 Alfred L. Werker horror screwball comedy ("Original Story by Lou Breslow and Stanley Rauh") starring Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy (Laurel and Hardy), Dante the Magician (a Danish magician named Harry August Jensen, who appeared in three movies as a magician, including this one and Jean Renoir's "The Golden Coach"), Sheila Ryan, Willie Best, John Shelton, Don Costello, Elisha Cook Jr., and Lou Lubin. Note that either Dante the Magician had a wonderful agent, or he was very highly regarded at this time, because he received equal billing to Laurel and Hardy, which we have not seen on any of their other movies! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this first release Japanese poster! Note that, immediately after World War II, the U.S. occupied Japan and part of Germany, and many American movies were shown in both countries between 1945 and the end of the occupation. Most of the Japanese posters we have seen from that period and many of the German posters and programs from the same period have a "Motion Picture Export Association" (MPEA) circular printed logo on the poster or program, and apparently this was a program run in conjunction with the U.S. government. Since there were many U.S. servicemen in Japan and Germany at this time, many of these posters and programs have the title written in both Japanese (or German) and in English. Also, note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. The poster was once lightly folded across the middle. It has six tiny circular stains in the bottom center (and two have paper loss in the center of the stain), but fortunately, they are in background areas, and otherwise, the poster is in pretty nice condition!
