Wanted now! Boys and Girls to Join Buck Jones Rangers, the 1932 Columbia Pictures poster for the popular Buck Jones kids' cowboy western club. ("Contest Prizes: rodeo rope, ranger hat, repeating gun, brand mark, & many others"). This was one of the many clever promotions theater owners came up with in the height of The Great Depression to get kids to come to the theaters for Saturday matinees (that tradition started in the early 1930s, and continued all the way until the 1960s, when TV killed the Saturday kid matinees).
