The company began as Standard Oil of New Jersey but eventually became known as Esso ("Eastern States Standard Oil"). In the past, the company has also branched into other areas, including tires & batteries (under the name Atlas), kerosene, service stations and more. In modern times, Esso is a trading name for ExxonMobil and its related companies. Artist: Kuhn Important Added Info: Note that this advertising poster was printed in 16 sections designed to overlap. This billboard poster was folded in a way that makes it resemble a tri-folded six-sheet (only much larger, of course, as there are more sections). But the length and width of the folded poster is just about the same as that of a folded six-sheet or three-sheet. This means that this poster needs to be sent in an oversized flat package, which will measure roughly 14" x 36", and approximately 2" high, and it will cost more to send than a regular sized package. Condition: very good to fine. The poster has some wear on the borders (more so on the borders of the sections that were on the outside when it was fully folded), but otherwise, the poster is in about as good condition as one might hope this large and this old of a poster to have survived in!
