The Grip of the Yukon, the 1928 Ernst Laemmle (nephew of studio owner Carl Laemmle) silent Alaska romantic love triangle action adventure melodrama ("From a story by William McLeod Raine") starring Neil Hamilton, Francis X. Bushman, June Marlowe, Otis Harlan, Burr McIntosh, and Jim Farley. Note that director Ernst Laemmle was Carl Laemmle Sr.'s nephew, and one of many of this relatives that he "brought over" from Germany. Ernst directed many westerns, but apparently he became homesick, because he returned to Germany and directed a few movies for Universal there, but then he retired from the movies in 1930, and passed away in Hollywood in 1950.

Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline).
