(Learn More) Jack Dempsey was the American heavyweight champion boxer from 1919 to 1926, and he made a few movie appearances (and there were also filmed versions of some of his fights). His nickname was "The Manassa Mauler". After his boxing career, Dempsey owned his own restaurant ("The House That Jack Built") on Broadway in New York City in Manhattan (opposite the Madison Square Garden). He passed away in 1983 at the age of 87. Important Added Info: Note that this menu has been personally autographed (signed) by Jack Dempsey (he autographed on the cover next to the printed signature of his name, and the signature has faded, but is still readable)! It is wonderful to read the incredibly low prices of the food (even more incredible because this was a high class restaurant in the heart of Manhattan, but of course, this was also at the height of the Depression!). Condition: good. The menu has green stains on the back cover. There are many scuffs, creases, and tiny stains scattered on the front cover. The signature on the cover has faded somewhat.
