An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) Gaslight, the 1944 George Cukor suspense mystery thriller ("Strange drama of a captive sweetheart!"; "M-G-M's thrilling Gaslight"; "Strange drama of a captive sweetheart!"; "Based upon the play by Patrick Hamilton"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; about a woman whose strange husband is trying to make her think she is going insane, and her friend who tries to prevent that from happening) starring Charles Boyer (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Ingrid Bergman (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Joseph Cotten, Dame May Whitty, Angela Lansbury (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film; in her first movie role!), Barbara Everest, and Heather Thatcher. Note that there have been many real life cases where someone has tried to make their spouse think they are losing their sanity, and it is commonly referred to as "gaslighting" that person, because of this famous movie with that plot! Important Added Info: Note that, for unknown reasons, the insert for this movie is FAR more rare than the one-sheet (we have auctioned a number of one-sheets over the years, but we have only ONCE before auctioned an insert, and it was 18 years ago! We hope it won't be 18 more years until we get another one! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good. The poster has tiny pinholes and staple holes in the top and bottom blank borders (there is an enlarged pinhole in the right of the top blank border, and a small piece of clear tape in the center of the top blank border). There is a pinhole near the center of the poster at the edge of the second "g" of "Gaslight". There is a tiny tear in the top center of the image, in Bergman's blouse by her sleeve. There is a 1/2" tear in the upper right border and a small stain in the upper left blank border. There are creases in the bottom blank border. I noted all the above only because of how rare the poster is, but they are truthfully minor and the poster will display great on the new owner's wall! Learn More about condition grades
